Summary benefit to sponsors
Prominent association with an innovative look at using the social web with a purpose. An exploration of the dynamics of social capital – the true ROI of social media. Inspiration for staff through a creative example of interaction with an online social network and lessons in the stewardship and leverage of such a network to get things done.
What help am I looking for?
A total of £10,000-£15,000
The trip is a balancing act between simply paying for everything directly and giving people in my network the opportunity to help out. I'm raising money for contingency, to cover my overhead while I'm away and for kit and some travel (which may be provided as sponsorship in kind rather than cash). At the top end, I'd like to employ someone back in the UK to cover content editorial and promotion for the duration of the trip.
Examples of what I can offer you:
-
presentations to staff during or after the trip (£1,000 per event)
-
branding and acknowledgement in outputs from of the trip – web, book, film, exhibitions, talks etc. (£200-£5,000 variable depending on prominence and medium)
-
“sponsor of the day” - posting on site at http://t2t2.posterous.com and brand announcements via twitter & facebook (£500 per day)
-
"wearable" branding (t-shirts, luggage, laptop stickers) (up to £250 per item)
-
brand or product evangelism on the road, including at SXSWi; (negotiable)
or anything else we might be able to agree on that adds value to you or your customers!
Examples of value exchanges last year:
-
Research into using social reporting tools for mapping culture and looking at the phenomenon of festivals such as SXSW – delivered as an informal report to senior management and video interview for showing in the sponsor organisation (£3,000)
-
Promoting and holding a social media cafe on the sponsor's premises (£1,500)
-
Running a workshop for local members of the sponsor's online social network and writing about it (My flights from London to Boston and back from Los Angeles (approx value £1,000) plus use of office space in Downtown Manhattan for a tweetup inc. beers!)
-
I also raised just over £1,000 in small donations (£5-£200) from friends, micropatrons, readers of the blog, members of the Tuttle community.
